The Torque Scholars Program: A Scholarship for Startups and Non-Profits

Here at Torque, we believe in people and we believe in visions. That's why we now offer The Torque Scholars Program: a scholarship for startups and non-profits for the one winning startup at a pitch night or one winning non-profit at a non-profit awards ceremony. Here's how it works:

1) One winning organization at one event will win a completely free design package, good for a poster design, flyer design, or most other similar design packages.
2) There is NO obligation to pay back Torque, and Torque will not seek any payment or equity in return. You will own all rights to the design and there is no legal obligation.

In the future, if I get too many requests, there will be a limit/application process for pitch night/non-profit award ceremony organizers.

1. Are you for serious? This is really free?

Yes, and if it makes you feel better, you can consider this a moral scholarship, which means I might send you one email 3-5 years from the date you win the design package, and I'll just ask what's up with your startup or organization, how things are going, and remind you about winning this scholarship. Then, only if you want, you can pay any amount you want or can, however much you think my design was worth to your startup or organization, or nothing at all. :)

2. But what if I'm in a tight place financially?

There really are no strings attached, and I promise I'll hold no grudges if you can't or don't want to pay me back. I'm doing this because I love the startup and non-profit community and I want to enable and empower small businesses and non-profits. I'm just adding in the moral scholarship part to make people feel less paranoid and because I'm a high school senior and soon enough, I'm going to be a college student. College is expensive and I'm hoping there are some startups I can invest my design in and will be able to pay it forward and help me fund my education. :)

Torque Media Group reserves the right to change the types of design packages this scholarship can be applied toward at any time. For example, at this time, The Torque Scholars Program does not have the financial means necessary for the scholarship to be applied to logo design and corporate identity design packages.
